ANALYSIS: Why Audi’s Sauber takeover is a serious statement of intent from the German car giant

Audi like to cause a splash when they take on a motorsport project – and they’ve done just that with news they are upping their acquisition from a majority stake in the Sauber F1 team to a complete takeover.
This not only proves their commitment to Formula 1 but more their desire to become a winning force, rather than just making up the numbers, as soon as possible when they enter with their own power unit in 2026.
