Caterham reveal new F1® team structure
Caterham have announced several new appointments as part of a wider restructuring following the management takeover completed at the start of July.
Christijan Albers has been confirmed as the new team principal, taking over from the recently-departed Cyril Abiteboul who has since returned to Renault Sport.
Albers will be supported by Manfredi Ravetto, who will serve as general manager and deputy team principal. Ravetto recently enjoyed a spell working at HRT alongside Colin Kolles, who is advising Caterham's new Swiss and Middle Eastern investors.
The team also announced the arrival of Simon Shinkins as chief operating officer and Miodrag Kotur as team manager, while Gianluca Pisanello has been promoted to head of trackside engineering.
John Iley, meanwhile, has become the team's technical director. The Briton will lead the work being done "to improve the 2014 car and the 2015 new car project".
Caterham also confirmed they have parted company with a number of employees, describing it as "a necessary step taken by the new owners of Caterham F1 Team whose priority is the future of the team".
Caterham enter this weekend’s Formula 1 Grosser Preis Santander von Deutschland 2014 at Hockenheim in 11th place in the constructors' standings without a world championship point.
