F1 ACADEMY: Pin returns to winning ways with dominant victory in Zandvoort

Doriane Pin bounced back in dominant style to take her second win of the 2024 F1 ACADEMY season in Zandvoort, sealing an assured victory after leading from lights-to-flag.
Maya Weug claimed her second podium of the weekend, with the Ferrari driver finishing in P2 in front of her home fans, while Abbi Pulling completed the rostrum in third despite fighting hard for second throughout the 17-lap race.

After receiving a five-second penalty for a false start in Race 1, there was no such trouble for Pin in Race 2 as she made a strong launch from pole to hold the lead. Also making a good getaway was Weug, who moved ahead of Pulling to slot into P2 at the first corner.
From there Pin went unchallenged as the Mercedes driver led throughout, while Pulling – who had scored her fifth win of the season in Race 1 – continued to pressure Weug throughout the race but ultimately had to settle for P3.
Wild Card entry Nina Gademan crossed the line in fourth on what has been an eye-catching debut for the Dutch driver, but she was hit with a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision with Aurelia Nobels, which promoted Hamda Al Qubaisi up into P4.
