FORMULA 2: Hubert takes maiden series win in Monaco photo finish

Frenchman Anthoine Hubert became the season’s first rookie winner in the Monaco Sprint Race, enjoying a lights-to-flag victory after starting on reverse grid pole.
The Renault junior survived a late lunge from Louis Deletraz and the pair finished side-by-side at the chequered flag, with just the front-wing of Hubert’s BWT Arden separating them. Fellow Renault junior Guanyu Zhou completed the podium, having overtaken Artem Markelov at the start.
Nicholas Latifi retained a slender grasp on the Formula 2 Championship after a weekend to forget around the tight and twisty streets of Monaco. The Canadian finished out of the points in both races but clung onto his place at the top of the standings by earning the two points for fastest lap at the end of the race.
The Canadian’s title challenger Nyck De Vries had to settle for P6, but the Dutchman still stretched his lead over Luca Ghiotto in the standings, who crashed out as early as lap 8 and left the principality empty handed.
