Lando Norris took a stunning pole position for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, mastering the treacherous wet conditions that threw up a significant challenge for the 20 drivers on the F1 grid. With title rivals Max Verstappen second and Oscar Piastri fifth, the championship leader is in prime position to extend his advantage. - Norris' third pole in succession was also his seventh of the season, drawing him level with Verstappen's tally.
- The last seven Grands Prix have been won from pole. This is one short of the record set in 1976.
- Verstappen has still never taken a pole position in Las Vegas, but qualifying second means he shares the front row with Norris for the fifth time this season.
- Carlos Sainz qualified third in Las Vegas. His only other top-three start this season came in Azerbaijan, where he converted his position into a podium finish.
- Sainz's result was Williams' best in Las Vegas since the team locked out the front row at Caesars Palace in 1981.
- Russell will start from fourth for the third time in the last four Grands Prix.
- The Mercedes driver was fastest in both Q1 and Q2, before falling short in Q3.
- Piastri will start from outside the top three for the fourth consecutive race.
