Lewis Hamilton tore the formbook to shreds to take a remarkable pole position in Sprint Qualifying at the Chinese Grand Prix as pre-event favourites McLaren slipped up. It sets up a tantalising weekend, kicking off with the first Sprint of the year, ahead of Qualifying and Sunday’s Grand Prix showpiece.

Ferrari come out of the bushes as Hamilton stars

Ferrari were left scratching their heads after a disappointing performance in the season opener down under in Australia – but they bounced back with aplomb in China.
