Oscar Piastri topped the timesheets in the final practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, edging out his team mate Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton as McLaren continued their strong form at the season finale.
McLaren have led the field in both FP2 and FP3, leaving them as the team to beat ahead of a crucial qualifying session. Piastri clocked a lap time of 1m 23.433s, almost two-tenths clear of Norris to leave the battle for pole position wide open.
FP3: Piastri leads Norris and Hamilton during final Abu Dhabi GP practice session
After a slow start to the session, a flurry of drivers headed to the track to run qualifying simulation laps. The usual frontrunners of Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari were spread across the top 10, but the Haas duo of Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen also looked rapid in P7 and P8 respectively.
However, McLaren undoubtedly appear to be the favourites around the Yas Marina Circuit after ekeing out a comprehensive gap of around four-tenths back to their nearest rivals, which bodes well for their constructors' championship hopes.
