George Russell was the final driver to top the timesheets during 2025 pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit, with the Mercedes man setting the pace to close out the three-day test.
After team mate Kimi Antonelli got behind the wheel of the W16 for the morning session on Friday, Russell took over driving duties for the afternoon and beat Max Verstappen’s previous fastest lap in the last few minutes on track.

Verstappen held onto P2 – despite a spin for the Red Bull driver briefly triggering the yellow flags later on – ahead of the Williams of Alex Albon in P3.
