HIGHLIGHTS: See all the key moments from first practice for the British Grand Prix
Formula 1 is stepping into the unknown this weekend with the first ever F1 Sprint event being tried out at the British Grand Prix.
And with Sprint – a 100km dash on Saturday afternoon – setting the grid for Sunday's race, traditional qualifying (which sets the starting order for the Sprint) has been brought forward to Friday evening. And that means there is just one practice session before qualifying, instead of the usual three. Just a single, one hour session for the drivers to get their cars set up before the competitive running begins.
