Red Bull driver Max Verstappen comfortably beat his rivals to the fastest time during qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix, with his RB20 coming alive around the Red Bull Ring on Saturday afternoon.
Verstappen posted two laps that were strong enough to claim pole position, ultimately finishing four-tenths ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris, with the Mercedes of George Russell a tenth further back in third.

A moment of Q3 drama for Charles Leclerc left him down in sixth, behind Ferrari team mate Carlos Sainz and the other Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton, while Oscar Piastri had briefly gone P3 but then lost his best time to track limits.
