McLaren re-hire former engineering chief

It’s been a big week for McLaren. Not only have they finalised an all-new 2019 driver line-up – with 18-year-old rookie Lando Norris to join Carlos Sainz – they've also confirmed the return to the team of Pat Fry, their former engineering chief.
Fry, who last worked in F1 for Manor and was Deputy Technical Director for Ferrari from 2010 until 2014, will return to McLaren as Engineering Director having held a variety of positions with the team from 1993 to 2010.
The Briton’s recruitment follows the departures of Racing Director Eric Boullier, Tech chief Tim Goss and Engineering chief Matt Morris, and the impending arrival of James Key, who is set to join the team from Toro Rosso as Technical Director.
