PADDOCK INSIDER: Driver spats, team battles and farewells as F1 gets ready for the final race of 2024 in Abu Dhabi

The drivers’ championship may be done and dusted as Formula 1’s 2024 campaign reaches its climax with a finale in Abu Dhabi, but there was still so much to talk about in the Yas Island paddock on Thursday.
The constructors’ title is still up for grabs of course, with McLaren and Ferrari vying to clinch their first silverware for 26 and 16 years respectively. There was a spat between two leading drivers while a multitude of rookies are preparing for FP1 appearances.
And then there are the multiple drivers who are set to make their final appearance either for the team they are currently racing for – including Lewis Hamilton ending his outrageously successful 12-year stint with Mercedes ahead of joining Ferrari – or for some, possibly their last turn of the wheel in anger in F1 at all.
