Lando Norris rebounded from a painful end to the Dutch Grand Prix to set the pace in Friday practice for the Italian Grand Prix. But it's still all to play for because, as is often the case at Monza, the margins are super close, with only 0.1s splitting the top three in FP2, while the top 16 are separated by just 0.8s...
McLaren hold the edge on opening day of running
McLaren has been the class of the field in most Friday practices this season and while Monza was no different, intriguingly their advantage over the rest of the field was slimmer than normal.
Norris was fastest with team mate and championship leader Oscar Piastri chasing a little pace after missing the first practice session to allow youngster Alex Dunne to perform the driving duties.
