RACE START REPLAY: Verstappen retains lead from pole as Dutch Grand Prix gets under way
He took pole position in Saturday's qualifying session to send the home fans into raptures, but could Max Verstappen keep the lead once the Dutch Grand Prix itself got under way?
The atmosphere at Zandvoort was rocking as the crowd waited to see their first Formula 1 Grand Prix at this track since 1985, and at 3pm local time, the lights went out.
Verstappen got the good start the home crowd were hoping for and kept the lead into Turn 1, as Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas slotted in behind, with no change in the top six order on the first lap.
