Lewis Hamilton managed an expletive-laden rant when he realised his strategy wasn’t going to pay dividends during the race, while his team mate George Russell was insistent on pitting again. Carlos Sainz had one of those afternoons, with a botched pit stop, a yellow flag moment and an unsafe release all combining to drop him down the order, for which he was not impressed.
Further back, there was plenty of encouragement for the midfield runners when they managed to pull off an overtake around this tricky track, while Yuki Tsunoda experienced a bizarre couple of laps that culminated in his retirement.
