Stefano Domenicali discusses F1 and Apple partnership at Apple TV press day
Stefano Domenicali discussed topics including F1 The Movie and the vision for the sport going forward during an appearance at the Apple TV press day.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, has been speaking about the new partnership between F1 and Apple during an Apple TV press day, following on from the announcement in October that Apple would become the sport’s exclusive US broadcast partner from 2026.
News of the partnership followed on from the success of F1 The Movie, the Apple Original Film which was released internationally in cinemas and IMAX venues in June and made its global streaming debut on Apple TV in December.
It has since been announced that the film has received four nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards (Oscars) under the ‘Best Picture’, ‘Visual Effects’, ‘Sound’ and ‘Film Editing’ categories.
In conversation with Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, at the Apple TV press day in Los Angeles, Domenicali discussed topics including the making of F1 The Movie, the excitement of the 2026 regulations and the vision for the sport going forward.
Domenicali spoke of his hope that the “great partnership” between Formula 1 and Apple will “launch our sport through Apple TV for our American fans”.
“That’s a beautiful opportunity that we’re going to do with passion, with determination, because we are resilient,” he continued.
“I always said to Eddy, we have a dream that is more than a dream – it’s an obligation to our fans to develop the sport, to make sure that F1 is becoming a part of the culture here in the United States.
“It’s very respectful of what you love in terms of sports and business, but our dream would be, one day, not only waking up to follow the Super Bowl or NBA or MLS, but also F1. That’s what we’re going to do together.”
In addition to showing F1 on Apple TV, Apple will amplify the sport across Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+.
The new broadcast agreement will see Apple TV host all Free Practice, Qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix. Select races and all Free Practice sessions throughout the season will also be available to watch for free in the Apple TV app.
F1 TV Premium, F1’s own premier content offering, will continue to be available in the US via an Apple TV subscription only and will be free for those who subscribe.
