WATCH: Go behind-the-scenes with Alonso for his first day at Aston Martin’s F1 factory

Fernando Alonso headlines the movers and shakers on the 2023 F1 grid, with the two-time world champion swapping Alpine for Aston Martin as he continues his quest for that elusive third title.
And, after a run for his new team at the 2022 post-season test in Abu Dhabi, this week marked Alonso’s first visit to Aston Martin’s factory near Silverstone – one that will soon be replaced by all-new HQ.
Alonso’s pre-season checklist included getting to know members of the team, touring the facilities, carrying out a seat fit and completing some (virtual) miles in the simulator.
“I saw a lot of energy from everyone!” Alonso commented, having also reunited with Martin Whitmarsh (Group CEO of Aston Martin Performance Technologies) and team ambassador Pedro de la Rosa – all three previously of McLaren.
