Charles Leclerc converted Ferrari’s strong pre-season form into a dream start at the Bahrain Grand Prix, winning out from team mate Carlos Sainz, as both Red Bulls suffered late retirements.
Leclerc led away from pole, before heading every lap bar two to record his third career victory in F1, and Ferrari’s first since the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix, 46 races ago – in a sign that the Scuderia are well and truly back in business in 2022.
