WATCH: Ocon brings out the red flags after heavy crash in Bahrain Qualifying

Esteban Ocon brought out the red flags during Qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix as the Haas driver made heavy contact with the barrier.

The Frenchman had made it through to the second part of Qualifying at the Bahrain International Circuit before losing control of his Haas machine on his first flying lap in Q2.

Having run wide on the exit of the Turn 2 left-hander, Ocon ran over the kerb before spinning to the outside of the circuit through the right kink of Turn 3 and hitting the barrier.

Ocon reported over the radio he was unharmed and extracted himself from the car as the session was red flagged to allow marshals to recover the wreckage.
