Following an hour-long delay after the original race start was red-flagged due to rain, the Monaco Grand Prix finally roared into life, with pole-sitter Charles Leclerc leading the pack away around a damp track following a rolling start.
It was a sub-optimal opening for Canadian drivers Lance Stroll and Nicholas Latifi, both of who hit the barriers on the formation lap, forcing them to pit – where they nearly collected one another as Stroll was released into Latifi’s path.
