Charles Leclerc clocked the quickest lap on the opening day of practice ahead of the Australian Grand Prix as he and Ferrari aim to deliver a win for the first time in 2024.
After back-to-back triumphs for Max Verstappen and Red Bull in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, it was Leclerc who made the headlines with his FP2 pace-setting time at Albert Park, where he claimed pole and victory two years ago.

Leclerc’s benchmark of 1m 17.277s, which included a mighty first sector, put him just under four-tenths clear of the aforementioned Verstappen, with returning team mate Carlos Sainz a few hundredths further back.
