From Kimi Raikkonen getting very confused by his engineer’s lack of clarity, to Max Verstappen accidentally unplugging some crucial cables, here’s how the Bahrain Grand Prix sounded from inside the cockpit.
Yuki Tusunoda wasn’t the only one to turn the airwaves blue on debut, with Nikita Mazepin also having some choice words to say about his Haas VF-21 in practice. But when the points were up for grabs, it was Lewis Hamilton who was left sharing a private joke with his race engineer Pete Bonnington as Max Verstappen was left to rue the mistake that cost him the race.
Sebastian Vettel had a slightly different immediate view on his crash with Esteban Ocon than most observers, while Tsunoda kept his radio – and his race – much cleaner on Sunday as he worked his way through the field. And while Charles Leclerc was left pretty pleased with Ferrari’s progress, Lando Norris beat him to the line and stole the limelight as the fireworks lit up the sky with a cheeky message to his team.
