Red Bull made a statement in the final race of 2020 as Verstappen took pole – ending a Mercedes qualifying run of P1 starts at Yas Marina that stemmed back to 2014 – before scoring an emphatic win, leading home Valtteri Bottas by 15 seconds at the flag, with Lewis Hamilton finishing third.

Meanwhile, Racing Point and McLaren faced off for P3 in the constructors' championship, Sebastian Vettel had his final race for Ferrari while Pietro Fittipaldi made his second appearance for Haas standing in for Romain Grosjean.
