Their battle isn’t the only one heating up, as Ferrari took the challenge to Mercedes last time out too – Charles Leclerc secured his first victory since 2024, while podiums for Lewis Hamilton in the Sprint and Grand Prix kept him firmly on the Silver Arrows’ radar.

Where is the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix taking place?

The Belgian Grand Prix will be held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, a classic venue that has been modified on multiple occasions since its calendar debut in 1950.

Drivers tend to love the flowing nature of its iconic corners, from Eau Rouge and Radillon to Pouhon and the Bus Stop, but face difficulties when it comes to optimising downforce levels or mastering the frequently rain-soaked track.

Although McLaren’s Oscar Piastri did exactly that in last season’s wet-dry affair, it’s likely that the contest will be between Mercedes and Ferrari this time, with Antonelli looking to shake off his reliability struggles and return to the top step. He’ll face tough competition from Hamilton, who still holds the record for the most pole positions at Spa (six).

What is the weather forecast in Belgium?

The Belgian Grand Prix’s rainy reputation could continue this weekend, with conditions currently expected to be warm with high chances of precipitation throughout the sessions. Drivers haven’t yet faced a wet weather race in 2026, so they may need to prepare for an entirely new challenge.
