Williams may be having a tough 2019 season, but they have announced some good news ahead of their home race at Silverstone this weekend – an extension of their title partnership with ROKiT from three years to five.
Williams joined forces with the telecommunications company ahead of their current championship campaign and the team say both parties have benefitted from synergies between the two, with ROKiT seeing dramatic results from the partnership and technical collaboration.
“We are delighted to announce this extension to our partnership with ROKiT,” commented Claire Williams, Deputy Team Principal. “As I said in February, this is a natural partnership based on shared values of innovation, engineering excellence and trust.”
Williams – who will be celebrating 50 years with Frank Williams at the helm this weekend – have yet to score a point this year, with Robert Kubica and rookie George Russell at the wheel of what has so far been an uncompetitive FW42.
“ROKiT joined the team at a challenging time and it means a great deal to us that they believe in our vision and are committed to helping us achieve it,” added Claire Williams. “I’ve personally enjoyed working with the team at ROKiT and look forward to continuing this work in the years ahead.”
