Friday afternoon was bright and clear at the Portimao circuit – but the windy conditions made life tricky for the drivers as they hit the track for second practice ahead of this weekend's Portuguese Grand Prix.

FP1 went ahead without a single stoppage as the drivers got their first running of the weekend under their belts, but FP2 was delayed by 10 minutes as a trackside drain problem was resolved before Race Control green lit the session.

Once running did get underway, Mercedes continued where they left off in the morning with Lewis Hamilton topping the time sheets this time around, while Max Verstappen was second quickest again, with little to choose between Red Bull and the Silver Arrows.
