BARRETTO: Norris promised McLaren that 2025 would be his year, so is he ready to become World Champion?

“Next year is going to be my year, too.” That was the final line of Lando Norris’ radio message to his team after he crossed the line to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and guarantee McLaren’s first constructors’ championship since 1998.
Those nine words (see the clip below) gave us an insight into just how far Norris has come since a fresh faced 17-year-old, described then by McLaren boss Zak Brown as a “fabulous prospect”, joined McLaren as part of their development programme in 2017.
