F2: Aron on pole ahead of title rivals at Spa

Paul Aron claimed back-to-back pole positions for Hitech Pulse-Eight, securing the top spot ahead of his Championship rivals in the process.
The Estonian found plenty of time in the middle sector on his final lap, putting in a 1m 56.959s lap to secure top honours ahead of third in the Championship Gabriel Bortoleto.
The Invicta Racing and McLaren Development Driver talent wound up a tenth of a second down on Aron’s time and was unable to find an improvement on his last-gasp lap.
Championship leader Isack Hadjar secured third on the grid for Campos Racing, 0.2s behind Aron, his closest challenger in the Standings.
DAMS Lucas Oil’s Jak Crawford secured fourth on the grid, a strong bounce back from his tough Hungarian weekend while Andrea Kimi Antonelli of PREMA Racing rounded out the top five positions.
Behind that duo, Zane Maloney was sixth for Rodin Motorsport ahead of MP Motorsport’s Franco Colapinto.

Trident driver Richard Verschoor was P8 ahead of Colapinto’s teammate Dennis Hauger. A late effort by ART Grand Prix’s Zak O’Sullivan lifted the Briton up to P10 at the chequered flag, leaving him set to start the Sprint Race on reverse grid pole.
