We asked former Renault F1 driver and F1 TV analyst Jolyon Palmer to come up with his perfect team boss built from the composite parts of the best people to have done the job.


Coming up with the composite parts to make the ‘perfect’ racing driver is a game many motorsport fans have played. Add together the natural skill of Jim Clark or Ayrton Senna, the analytical mind of Alain Prost, the tenacity of Niki Lauda, the dedication of Michael Schumacher and so on, and you could create an unbeatable competitor.
We thought it would be interesting to do the same exercise, but instead of creating the perfect driver, we wondered what the ultimate team principal would look like. So we asked former Renault F1 driver and F1 TV analyst Jolyon Palmer to come up with his perfect team boss…
